Style Vibe: Preppy

Too cool for school. Preppy style is synonymous with campus life, but definitely has expanded far beyond those East Coast ivy covered walls. Not just for Muffy and Wilder anymore, it’s now become the basis for how most of us dress— simple, well-worn, easy and always effortless. Crew neck sweaters, chinos, penny loafers. That’s the look. You dig? As a kid my first rite of passage was a navy Brooks Brothers blazer— you know the one with the gold button? And when I was a California high schooler, all I could think about was going ‘back East’ for my own dose of collegiate style— and boy did I embrace it. Topsiders, anoraks, J. Crew…I wore it all. Now, back to school may look a lot different this year for most folks, but there’s plenty of ways to infuse your WFH style with a little old-school academic finesse. So, if you’re feeling that Catcher in the Rye mindset, I support you.
