And just like that, another year done and a new year to celebrate! I’ve always loved to toast the new year at home with friends—it’s more personal, more fun and a lot less logistics. But listen, whether you’re toasting with a few besties or having a big to-do, figuring out what to eat (and drink) is as easy as 1, 2, 3, and I’ve gathered my favorite small bites and appetizers for an effortless New Years spread—as well as all the barware and tabletop you’ll need to toast 2024 in style.
APPS & SMALL BITES
This savory take on the traditional French cookie bumps up the flavor factor by adding pecorino & black pepper.
This vegetarian tart takes advantage of frozen puff pastry (which I always have in my freezer) as a base for umami-packed sautéed mushrooms, pecorino and Boursin cheese.
DESSERTS
I’ve bumped up the flavor complexity by adding a touch of Chinese Five Spice as well as instant espresso granules which bring out the chocolate flavor even more.
